Small actions build real recognition
Visibility has a branding problem.
We treat it like a big, polished moment. Like a presentation or a promotion. Maybe even a perfectly timed post that makes everyone suddenly “see” us.
So we wait until the work is more complete or we feel more confident. Until it feels… worth showing.
But do you know what actually moves the needle and builds visibility? Small consistent moments rather than big reveals.
It’s how often people come across your thinking, your perspective, your contribution. And most of those moments don’t require a stage.
So, if you’ve been overcomplicating visibility, try simplifying it. Pick just one small move this week that makes your work a little more seen.
It could be:
- Sharing a quick update on a project in progress
- Speaking up once earlier in a meeting instead of at the end
- Sending a follow-up that highlights a key insight or outcome
- Posting a short reflection or takeaway on LinkedIn
- Giving context to your work instead of just delivering the output
It has to be intentional rather than dramatic.
When people consistently (and repeatedly) see how you think—not just what you produce—they start to associate you with value. With leadership.
That’s visibility. It’s not performative or forced, but about presence.
And over time, those small moves compound into something bigger where recognition feels earned rather than accidental.
So if you’ve been waiting for the “right moment” to be more visible, this is it. Not later. Not when it’s perfect. Or when the universe sends you “a sign.”
It’s this week, and it’s the smallest single action you can take to make your thinking just a little more seen?
Until next time…
